Warren – Avalon South Golf Course Management, LLC

The Old Avalon Golf Course originally opened in 1929 and is owned by the City of Warren. The course features 6,224 yards of golf, is a par 71, has a rating of 68.6 and a slope of 112.  The 83 year history of the Old Avalon came to a screeching halt in 2012 when the city evicted the previous management company. The course has been closed since.

In October of 2013, after the Avalon was closed for a full season, Larry Petrozzi and Robert Zehentbauer were awarded a five year management contract for the golf course. They created the Avalon South Golf Course Management, LLC in November of 2013.  Financing to reopen the course was made possible by Chase and a USDA RBEG loan through MVEDC.

This is the perfect pairing to reopen and revitalize the Old Avalon. Robert has been the owner/operator of Eagle Pass Golf Course (Hanoverton, OH) since 1996. He has the knowledge and experience to run and manage a golf course. He is also employed by the Columbiana County Health Department. Larry owns Petrozzi Accounting and he brings his financial and business expertise to the partnership.
